Welcome to Canicross Coaching! A small local coach offering professional training for you and your dog. We are confident that we can provide you with everything you need to be a success! In fact, we have been so successful that many have tried to copy our offering and formats! And they do say that mimicry is the highest form of flattery!

We are fully insured for all our activities, including working with juniors, so with professional qualifications and recognition, you know that we are a genuine coaching service backed by years of experience at all levels.

We are the only Forestry Authorised coach within the Nottingham and Sherwood area, giving us fantastic access to some amazing training grounds.

About me

Anne-Marie has been training and racing in canisport since 2012, starting with her two standard schnauzers and a desire to just get fitter. Having arrived at an introduction session, she was harnessed up and sent off on a 5k run... there was no explanation or discussion and after several sessions like this it was clear that peoples' experiences at introductions were not always the best. Due to the wonderful bout of Covid-19, Canicross Coaching remained in its hibernated state until we were all allowed out again.

Anne-Marie has trained and raised her own dogs for Cani-sport, notably running with non 'race dogs' and achieving fantastic results, proving that any dog with the right training can be a fantastic trail companion or race dog! Her newest addition has just begun his training and will continue to train slowly and steadily until he is ready to race.

With experience in building drive and focus as well as fitness in both human and dog, we have built this from years of work with other leading sport participants as well as undertaking regular CPD and research into what works. We can trouble shoot many issues with our clients and provide them with the tools to be successful. All of our dogs have competed and all at National and International level, with retirement coming for the eldest dogs once they reached double digits! We believe that a canisport dog can be active as long as they are able, in fact more regular movement and activity are great ways to keep dogs healthy and mobile long into their senior years!

The purpose of Canicross Coaching is to provide clients and their dogs with a complete service from initial introductions to National and International level racing if that is something that interests you. Our clients range in age from just 9 years old, to over 70! and we have supported over 40 athletes and their dogs from the Sherwood area to take on race opportunities. Our clients know that we are all about them and their dogs having fun and achieving their full pawtential!
